Lounge/kitchen/diner: with panoramic harbour views TV DVD hi-fi cooker microwave fridge freezer dishwasher washing machine tumble dryer and patio doors leading onto a balcony area with stunning views. Amenities: allocated parking for 1 car. There are 3 on site visitors car parking spaces but are on a first come first served basis. Bridport in Dorset is a market town situated near the coast where the River Brit flows into the sea. Originally a fishing port and rope-making town, the former harbour, once known as Bridport Harbour, is now known as West Bay and the area is now better known as a tourist location. Indeed West Bay has featured in a number of films and TV series including ‘The Navy Lark’ and ‘Harbour Lights’.
The railway once connected West Bay to the mainline, but as with many local branch-lines the Beeching cuts led to its closure, and the former line now provides an excellent route for cyclists, with the old station at West Bay becoming a fine cafe.
